From one village to another…
Steve opened the Mediterranean Snack Bar on January 11, 1975, but its history begins even earlier on the beautiful island of Lesvos, Greece, where he was born and raised in the small village of Agia Paraskevi. The food of the island is distinctive, simple and always prepared with the freshest ingredients of the region, known for fishing, vast olive groves, and salt production. This was a strong influence on Steve and you'll find evidence of this at the Snack Bar today, in the elegant way we prepare seafood specialties and all of the Greek delicacies on our menu.
Since then we've become one of Long Island’s greatest dining treasures. Ask any of my customers who return again and again and they'll tell you that this is the kind of seafood, salad and genuine Greek cuisine they’d expect to find on an island in the Aegean Sea.
